Whisper-quiet 1920's unit with 2 living rooms and 2 terraces

This gorgeous ground floor unit offers the feeling and space of a Semi. Built in the 1920's, the property is one of just five, and displays elegant original features including polished floors throughout. Best of all, the property is virtually unaffected by Sydney Road, so noise is not an issue.

* Rare for a unit, there are two living rooms; one is formal, while the other is more of a rumpus or an informal/casual lounge which flows out to a large covered terrace at the North end of this property.
* A second, highly practical covered terrace is located at the South end of this home, flowing out from the kitchen
* Both bedrooms are of a good-size and both feature built-in wardrobes
* There are polished floors, high patterned ceilings, picture rails, sash windows and an elegant feeling of yesteryear' throughout
* The bathroom is modern and all-white, and has a bath with stand-in shower.
* A wonderful bonus is the communal BBQ area positioned in a lofty, leafy and very private garden at the rear of the block. There is a large teak table with 8 chairs, market umbrella, gas bbq and power & light. A great place to entertain al fresco'!
* Being on the Manly and City bus line, transport is a breeze! A short walk brings you to the mixed shops of Fairlight, while just down the hill lies Fairlight beach and the beautiful foreshore walk
* A single car space is on title for this lovely property

This is truly a Semi-sized home at a unit price, so don't miss it!

History

Fairlight takes its name from Fairlight House built by Henry Gilbert Smith on land he bought in 1853 from John Parker who had received a land grant in 1837. The house was named after Fairlight, East Sussex, a historic village in Hastings on the south coast of England.
Fairlight was originally only the area near the beach where Fairlight house, once stood and the suburb at the top of the hill was called Red Hill, due to the pre-World War II red gravel surface of Sydney road.
