Land! Build your dream home! North aspect! District Views! (SOLD $1,280,000)

Land in the heart of Fairlight rarely becomes available and this block offers a perfect opportunity to capitalise on this awesome location. Live in - or rent out - the old weatherboard property while you lodge your D.A. and then watch as your dream home materialises before your eyes!

* The land is a gently-sloping block of 436sqm with a c.1920's weatherboard home positioned on it. The house has been lived in until recently and is in fair but tired condition.
* At the front is a single garage, plus a single car port.
* Awesome district views are there to be capitalised on to the North over Fairlight and on towards Manly Vale, Queenscliff and Manly. These views will be enjoyed from the lower level and more particularly from the second level (subject to council approval) of your new dream home.
* The land in front of this property falls away, offering the peace-of-mind that these views will not be built out in the future.
* A short walk brings you to the row of excellent Fairlight shops, as well as the city bus. Fairlight beach, the famous Foreshore Walk and the heart of Manly are all a quick drive away.

Now you don't need to make compromises with your next house purchase. Buy this land and build exactly what you desire!

History

Fairlight takes its name from Fairlight House built by Henry Gilbert Smith on land he bought in 1853 from John Parker who had received a land grant in 1837. The house was named after Fairlight, East Sussex, a historic village in Hastings on the south coast of England.
Fairlight was originally only the area near the beach where Fairlight house, once stood and the suburb at the top of the hill was called Red Hill, due to the pre-World War II red gravel surface of Sydney road.
